Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 cup water room temperature
  • cup + 1 tablespoon unsalted butter for boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg room temperature
Coating
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional toppings: chocolate syrup honey, Nutella

Method
 

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and gradually add flour, stirring constantly until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Remove dough to a large bowl and allow to cool 4–5 minutes.
  4. Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing with a hand mixer until fully incorporated.
  5. Transfer dough to a piping bag or prepare to spoon into air fryer basket. preheat air fryer to 375°F and lightly spray basket with nonstick oil.
  6. Pipe or spoon bite-sized portions into the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Brush with a little melted butter if desired.
  7. Cook for 12–15 minutes until golden brown, adjusting time based on your air fryer model.
  8. While warm, mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Toss churro bites in cinnamon sugar until evenly coated.
  9. Serve immediately with chocolate syrup, honey, or Nutella.
