Ingredients
  

For the Donuts:
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour spooned and leveled
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder for leavening
  • ½ teaspoon salt to enhance flavor
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom optional adds warmth
  • 1 ⅔ cups fresh blueberries about 280 g use fresh not frozen
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour to toss with blueberries
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted adds richness
  • 1 ¼ cups granulated white sugar for sweetness
  • 2 large eggs room temperature helps with even mixing
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for flavor
  • ½ cup sour cream room temperature keeps donuts moist
  • ½ cup whole milk room temperature for batter consistency
For the Blueberry Glaze:
  • 2 ¼ cups powdered sugar sifted for smoothness
  • 2 tablespoon blueberry jam for fruity flavor
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to enhance the glaze
  • 2-3 tablespoon milk to adjust consistency

Method
 

For the Donuts
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cardamom (if using) in a small bowl.
  3. Toss the blueberries with the tablespoon of flour in a small bowl to coat, then set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, sour cream, and milk.
  5. Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and whisk just until combined.
  6. Fold the blueberries gently into the batter using a rubber spatula.
  7. Transfer the batter into a piping bag and cut off the tip. Pipe the batter into each well of the donut pan, filling each about three-quarters full.
  8. Bake for 11-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let them cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
For the Glaze
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, blueberry jam, vanilla, and milk. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Dip each donut into the glaze, ensuring the top is covered, then return them to the wire rack. Let the glaze set for about 30 minutes.
