Bread Base
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour -

Cinnamon Swirl
  • ½ cup Brown sugar - Light or dark
  • 1 tablespoon Ground cinnamon -
  • 2 tablespoon Melted butter - Add 1 tablespoon apple cider for gooier swirl
Vanilla Glaze
  • ½ cup Powdered sugar - Sifted
  • 1 tablespoon Milk Adjust -for consistency
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract - Optional drizzle of caramel for topping

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing Bowls (One large, one medium)
  • 1 Whisk (For combining dry ingredients)
  • 1 Rubber spatula (For folding batter)
  • 1 Butter Knife (Used for swirling cinnamon mixture)
  • 1 Wire rack (For cooling the loaf)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x5 loaf pan. Dice apples into ¼-inch pieces and set aside. Make cinnamon swirl mixture by combining brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl until fully combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in sour cream, oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gently fold wet mixture into dry mixture just until combined. Do not overmix. Fold in diced apples evenly.
  5. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, spoon half the cinnamon mixture in dollops, and swirl with a butter knife. Add remaining batter, top with remaining cinnamon, and swirl again.
