Ingredients

Brownie Base
  • 1 box Brownie mix - Any brand works
  • 2 Eggs - As per box instructions
  • ½ cup Vegetable oil - Or melted butter
  • 2 tablespoon Water - Adjust based on box instructions
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder - Optional for extra richness
Cream Cheese Swirl
  • 8 oz Cream cheese - Softened to room temperature
  • ¼ cup Sugar - To sweeten the swirl
  • 1 Egg - Adds creaminess
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract - For flavor
  • 3–4 drops Orange food coloring - Gel or liquid adjust for shade
  • Optional white portion - Leave half mixture plain for white swirls

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch baking pan (Grease or line with parchment paper)
  • 1 Mixing Bowls (One for brownie batter, one for cream cheese)
  • 1 Electric mixer or whisk (To beat cream cheese mixture smooth)
  • 1 Butter Knife (For swirling patterns)
  • 1 Toothpick (For checking doneness)

Method

  1. Prepare the brownie base: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan. Mix brownie batter according to package directions (or homemade recipe). Pour into pan and set aside.
  2. Make the cream cheese mixture: Beat softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add egg and vanilla extract and beat again until creamy.
Smooth cream cheese mixture whipped to a creamy texture in a white bowl, ready to be used for brownie or dessert swirl filling.
  3. Add color: Divide mixture into two bowls. Tint one portion orange with food coloring, leaving the other white.
  4. Swirl it: Drop spoonfuls of orange and white cream cheese mixtures over brownie batter. Use a butter knife to gently swirl in figure-eight motions. Don’t overmix — stop after 8–10 swirls.
  5. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Don’t overbake.
  6. Cool completely: Place the pan on a wire rack and let brownies cool fully before cutting. Cooling helps the cream cheese layer set.
