- Prepare the brownie base: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan. Mix brownie batter according to package directions (or homemade recipe). Pour into pan and set aside.
- Make the cream cheese mixture: Beat softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add egg and vanilla extract and beat again until creamy.

- Add color: Divide mixture into two bowls. Tint one portion orange with food coloring, leaving the other white.
- Swirl it: Drop spoonfuls of orange and white cream cheese mixtures over brownie batter. Use a butter knife to gently swirl in figure-eight motions. Don’t overmix — stop after 8–10 swirls.
- Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Don’t overbake.
- Cool completely: Place the pan on a wire rack and let brownies cool fully before cutting. Cooling helps the cream cheese layer set.
