Ingredients
  

For the cake
  • 1 box yellow cake mix 15.25 oz, for the base
  • 1 box instant lemon pudding mix 3.4 oz for flavor and moisture
  • ¾ cup water liquid for mixing
  • ¾ cup oil adds moisture and richness
  • 4 large eggs binds the cake together
For the soaking syrup
  • 2 cups powdered sugar adds sweetness and texture
  • cup lemon juice freshly squeezed for tartness
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter melted for richness
  • 2 tablespoon water to dilute the syrup

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan. prep
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs with an electric mixer. Add the cake mix, pudding mix, water, and oil, and mix until fully combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. While the cake bakes, prepare the soaking syrup by whisking together the powdered sugar, lemon juice, melted butter, and water in a separate bowl. mix
  5. When the cake is finished baking, use a skewer or fork to poke holes all over the top. Pour the warm soaking syrup over the cake.
  6. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before serving.
