Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ cups cups Water -For cooking the rice.
  • 2 tablespoon tbsp Rice vinegar -For seasoning the rice.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt -Season the rice with salt.
  • 16 oz can Canned salmon -Drain and flake the salmon; or use 2 fresh salmon fillets.
  • 1 teaspoon Soysauce Optional -for flavoring the salmon.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds -Optional for te rice balls or for toasting.
  • 2 tablespoon Green onions -Chopped mixed into the rice.
  • 1 tablespoon Furikake seasoning -Optional for added flavor.

Equipment

  • 1 Rice Cooker (Alternatively, use a pot with a lid to cook the rice. )
  • 1 Large mixing bowl (For mixing the rice and salmon. )
  • 1 Small Bowl for Hand Water (To wet hands before shaping rice balls. )
  • 1 Fork (For flaking the cooked salmon. )
  • 1 Spatula (For gently mixing the seasoned rice. )

Method
 

  1. Cook the sushi rice until done, then cool it.
  2. Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt into the rice.
  3. Flake the cooked or canned salmon and season with soy sauce.
  4. Combine rice, salmon, sesame seeds, and green onions together.
  5. Wet your hands and shape the mixture into balls or triangles.
  6. Optionally, fry the rice balls for a crispy finish.
