  • 1 lb Ground beef - Or thinly sliced flank steak
  • 3 cloves Garlic -Minced
  • 2 whole Fresh red chilies - Thinly slice adjust heat to taste
  • 2 tablespoon Soy sauce - Adds saltiness
  • 1 tablespoon Fish sauce - For depth and umami
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce - Adds richness
  • 1 teaspoon Brown sugar - Balances flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice - Freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup Thai basil leaves - Fresh only for best flavor
  • ½ whole Red bell pepper - Thinly sliced
  • 2 stalks Green onions - Sliced thi
The Wrappers
  • 12 sheets Rice paper rounds -For wrapping
  • 2 cups Warm water - For softening rice paper

  • 1 cup Lettuce leaves - Torn small
  • ½ cup Bean sprouts - Rinsed and drained
  • ¼ cup Fresh mint - Whole leaves
  • ¼ cup Cilantro - Whole leaves

Method
 

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add minced garlic and sliced chilies; stir for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart. Stir in soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and brown sugar
  2. Prep Wash and dry lettuce, bean sprouts, mint, and cilantro. Slice cucumbers and carrots into thin matchsticks if using. Keep everything ready in bowls near your rolling station.

  3. Prep Fill a shallow dish with warm water. Dip each rice paper for 3–5 seconds until just pliable (not too soft). Lay flat on a clean cutting board or damp towel.
  4. Assemble Place a lettuce leaf on the center of softened rice paper. Add a spoonful of beef mixture, then layer vegetables and herbs. Fold bottom edge over filling, fold sides in, and roll tightly like a burrito. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
